Summary:
|
The ability to encumber funds for the 2025-26 fiscal year is available in the financial system. This includes the ability to issue purchase orders. The current process does not provide for a budget check; therefore, the District will provide the appropriate internal controls to approve and monitor encumbrances.
The purpose of this resolution is to allow the encumbrance of the 2025-26 budget for supplies and services before the start of the fiscal year. The intent is to provide protection from legal issues for the Board of Trustee members and school district officials who authorize the encumbrance of next fiscal year's funds.
