Summary: Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) are required to adopt a budget by July 1 of each year. County Superintendents are required to examine the adopted budget for each school district in the county and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI) is required to examine the adopted budget for each county office of education. Budgets are examined for compliance with state-adopted criteria and standards, to identify technical corrections needed, and to determine whether the budget will allow the LEA to meet budget year and multi-year financial commitments. Budgets must be approved or disapproved by specified dates.

The adopted budget must be filed with the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) by July 1 for review and approval.
• First Interim must be certified within 45 days of close of the period ending October 31.
• Second Interim must be certified within 45 days of close of the period ending January 31.

LEAs are required to hold a Public Hearing on the budget before it is presented to the Board for approval. The Public Hearing for the 2025-26 Budget was held on May 27, 2025.

Recommendation: The administration recommends that the Board of Trustees of the Beaumont Unified School District adopt the 2025-26 Budget.
